Fog
Driving down the freeway Thomas was annoyed. Fog was slowing down their trip to Portland. He was with a few of his friends in a van that they had stolen. Thomas was a genius thief, and his gang would steal anything that you asked them for. The next item was simple. A vase kept in the lobby of a hotel. Thomas and his crew would easily take it having great experience in removing heavy objects from cases. Visibility was starting to decrease. "Dang it, now it will be 3:00 am when we get to Portland". "Keep driving Thomas, and stop complaining, so we can get to sleep". Thomas cursed to himself, and was afraid that he would fall asleep, and crash his car in the thick fog. A blur passed by the car. "Did you see that?" "Shut up Thomas, were trying to sleep". The car was being pulled back by an unknown force. Thomas stepped on the gas, but nothing happened. Soon the van was at a complete stop. He kept stepping on the gas, but the car did not budge. Thomas panicked, and put the car in park. He stepped outside and saw ropes with hooks latched on to the back of the van. The ropes went as far back as the eye could see, which was not very long. He heard lots of voices, but could not see due to the thick fog. An arrow latched itself on to the tire which was now losing air. Thomas could hear foot steps, and whatever it was, came closer. Thomas banged on the windows to get his friends to wake up. "Thomas, what is it this time?" "Help me get the spare tire on now!" "We are being attacked". "Thomas this better not be one of your silly games". The rest of his friends woke up, and confirmed that it was real. Another arrow came whizzing by and hit Nick in the hand. Nick cursed and screamed in pain. Thomas's heart started pounding. The rest of his friends were in shock. The footsteps came closer. "Come on get the spare"! Insane screams pierced the night and fear was visible in his friends faces. The fog seemed to get thicker by the moment. Nick had an arrow through his hand, they could barely see where to connect the spare tire. "Hurry"! The spare was on, the ropes were off, and Thomas turned around. He saw shadows, hundreds of them sprinting towards the car. Weird shapes and objects were in their hands. "Get in the car!" Thomas slammed the gas, and the van surged forward. The van ran right into another group of people. Thomas was despaired knowing that they were now surrounded. Various objects hacked at the car, and the screaming of the unknown kept terrorizing the men in the car. Thomas looked into their grey and black painted faces, and saw insanity. Thomas kept driving, running over the unknown. Brutal sounds echoed through the nights as bones split, and skulls were crushed. The unknown would not move out of the way, and Thomas knew that if he stopped everyone would die. What made the driving even worse was the fog. It was so thick that you could only see a foot in front of you. It was a traumatic experience with grey and black faces popping out of nowhere and being flattened by the van. Five long minutes later Thomas ran over the last of the unknown. They screamed in fury knowing that they had missed an opportunity. The combined sound of the screech of one hundred mad men was terrifying. Thomas froze in fear, and vowed to his friends that they would never travel this highway again. He also made every member if the gang promise that they would never reveal the disturbing detail of this night to anyone. Meanwhile, the unknown were regrouping in the woods getting ready to trounce their next selected victim. The fog thickened and the unknown howled through the night.

Junior Research
I do not like Junior Research at all, but I try to refrain from complaining about it as much as I can. I think the way to tackle any large obstacle is too take it out in intervals. Each day take out one page, and spend a certain amount of time on it. Complaining wont do anything for me so I just need to take care of business one day at a time. As long as I maintain a positive attitude and stay committed to my plan I will hurdle the large obstacle that is Junior Research. Even though I will lose a lot of sleep my motivation is to think how free I will be after Junior Research. Well, not really because I have stinking midterms after. Very poor scheduling on the English department. Anyway, midterms is the next obstacle that I will take out in increments. Then I will have a valid motivation, which is Christmas break. Once I finish Junior Research I will be ready to approach the finish line. It is the last part of the race now, so there is no time to complain about how tired I am. Just one obstacle at a time, and then I can feast on the great meal that is Christmas break.

Random Autobiography Poem
I've been to New Orleans many times. I consider it as my second home. The atmosphere, food, and people are all great.
Another town I have visited is New York. Twice I have been there, and Times Square never fails to astound me.
Dogs are my favorite animal to pet because in my opinion they are the animal that is the most similar to a human.
I have not seen any significant historical event in my lifetime, I wish I can one day
I have lost many things including my blazer, jacket, wallet, and phone. When I lose something I freak out, but I always find some way to recover it.
One of the weirdest experiences I had was when I was in Greece. I had just dived in the pool, and discovered that a naked boy was in the pool. Everybody else swimming completely ignored it.
I have witnessed intense and funny arguments between two students, and I have heard many great stories from teachers
My favorite movies are action and thriller movies. I love to read books that are fast paced. Any Greek food I will eat.
New Orleans is a special place to me because I have a lot of family that lives there. Telluride, Colorado is also special to me because that was where I learned to ski. I also went on many challenging and exciting runs there. Seaside, Florida is also a place that my family goes to every year. The beaches are a great experience.

House Memory
When I was one I heard the news that I was going to have a sister and I was pretty put off. Now, since she was the newborn she would get all of the attention. When everybody was always around her I would think what happened to me? Hello, I still am the first child, and deserve all of the attention. At about three years old I figured out the solution. Whenever my Greek family members came over they would always dance to Greek music. Everybody would sit on the couch and watch whoever was dancing. Some would join the dancing circle, and enjoy themselves. Then a light went off in my head. If everyone is watching then this is my time to earn the attention of everybody watching. I joined in the circle, and that made everybody start laughing. I did not know what I was doing, so I just copied the movements of the dancers to the best of my ability. Soon everyone was seated and watching me dance the night away. Everyone was clapping and I danced even more. I was getting compliments left and right about how good of a dancer I was. Now I was aware that when ever the family came over I knew how to get the spotlight. All of the attention was mine, and all I had to do was start dancing.

I was the expected
I was the expected person to ski down a double black diamond
Ive held amazing foods
I lost my finger for a moment when it was dislocated
I tell you sincerely that I am a fierce competitor
Once Ive been fishing
Twice Ive been to New York
I bought a lot of food in Greece
I love the Terranea Resort in Los Angeles
Ive been scared when I heard a gun shot during a run
Ive seen Beverly Hills
I'm an avid sports fan
I learned that exercising is very good for you
Ive heard that Skyfall is a great movie
Ive had some great food in New Orleans
I once have been waterskiing
And only one time have I had a concussion
I have been on the top of a mountain many times
I witnessed the Saints win their first championship
I will testify to shaking hands with Dikembe Mutumbo
I have stories of crazy people in Telluride
I found a great challenge when I decided to start skiing

Why I Write
I write because I have an imagination. I enjoy creating stories that have struggles, victories, and a lot of tension. Writing is an escape from the real world, and an entrance into a world that you choose to create. Or it is the real world, but manipulated to your desires. Another reason I write is because it has no rules or restrictions. It is all controlled by you. I write because it is a challenge, and I love to face challenges. You write the best story or poem you can to beat that challenge by as many points possible. I write because when you beat that challenge there are rewards coming in many forms. Every story is a new game, and there are many strategies needed to be the winner.

Skiing
Once when I was skiing in Telluride
with by Dad, sisters, and best friend we decided to go up to a new set of runs
called Revelation Bowl. I remember light wind, and a little bit of snow at the
bottom of the mountain. Once we took a few runs and ski lifts to get to
Revelation Bowl I was very excited. The wind picked up, and snow started to
whip into my face. Every run was black in Revelation Bowl, so there was no
messing around. We had to choose between either a mogul run, or an extremely
steep run. We chose the steep run, and I was the first one to go down. Wind and
snow assaulted my face, and the mist around the mountain, almost made me feel
like I was not in this world anymore. Shooting down the mountain, I made turns
to control my speed. On a steep mountain turning is very difficult, and they
can become very wide. On one of my turns I went straight into the mogul run,
and my knees felt like they were shattering as I hit each bump. By some
miracle, I made it back into the original run without falling. The end of the
run came, and I skidded to a stop. I looked up the mountain and I could barely
see everybody else coming down. One man made a similar turn that I did, and had
a different fate. He slid straight down for about 200 meters before coming to a
stop in the middle of the run. The man got right back up, and I was relieved
that he was ok. I was ready to do this run again and again even though I saw a
man totally wipe out. My dad said, “ok one more time, and then we will head
back”. My friend and my sisters were panting, and complaining about how their
legs were sore. They asked me “how would you want to do something that hard
again”? I replied, “I could do this over and over, maybe I will do the moguls
next time”.

Snubbed
I have never really been a sensitive person, but I can be very high tempered. I remember when I was in sixth grade, and at an awards ceremony for sports. I expected to be MVP on the track team, and get some sort of award for Cross Country. I got the Coaches award for Cross Country, but I did not get anything in track. I was shocked and I felt like the coaches had snubbed me. At the time i thought that maybe they had something against me, which was ridiculous. The coaches had a lot of respect for me, but I was furious and felt severely rejected. I still think I should I have gotten that award today, but the lesson that I learned that night was more valuable. It is not about the award after the season is over, it is about what you do during the season. That was a hard pill to swallow for me, and it took me a while to move on. I thought I had done everything during the season that would earn me MVP. There was no way that I would not get that award. I remember waiting for the award, and thinking to myself "get ready to stand up" and then two different names were called. Sitting on the table I wish I had bigger legs, so I could kick it to the ceiling. I stood still, but I wanted to rip everything apart. On the outside I clapped and smiled, but on the inside their was a volcano of rage exploding. I took it personally, and I was too sensitive on the matter. I felt as if I was in a car with all of these people on a bridge, and then they threw me off. I probably learned one of the most important lessons of my life during that time period, and this lesson made me stronger as a person and a competitor.

Something I adore but others loathe
I like the taste of blood after you have bit your tongue
It might not go so well with food, but in the long run it eases the pain on your tongue
Most people think it is disgusting
I think it is refreshing
The sharp pain after a bite is awful
Blood washes out the pain and makes me calm down
Good things to have with blood after a bite include: water, juice, or any other drink that is not fizzy
Blood is mostly thought of as something that would set off panic
This is true in some cases, but after self inflicted bite on the tongue there is nothing more refreshing

Man named Nikolai (Edited Version)
Nikolai, a pizza delivery man in New York City, was on his way to deliver pizza to an office building across Brooklyn bridge. Everything was normal until he looked behind him and saw two fleets of cars behind him. He also heard gunfire. Nikolai tried to make a u turn to avoid these cars, but the bridge was only a few meters in front of him. One man opened the sun roof of a car and sprayed his machine gun bullets onto the Ford Truck in front of him. The truck exploded, and one of the tires spinning away from the car hit an eighteen wheeler containing boiled cabbage. Nikolai swerved away, and barely avoided the tidal wave of cabbages coming towards his car. The Man with the machine gun was not so lucky. All of the cabbages hit him so hard that he flew out of the car, and fell off of the bridge. A three- legged dog in the front of the eighteen wheeler barked frantically. More machine guns fired, and more cars crashed. Nikolai somehow avoided all of the violence. The bridge was coming to an end, and Nikolai rejoiced. His feeling was quickly overcome by horror when he saw the bridge being raised up. Nikolai stomped on the gas pedal, and made it to the end of the bridge. One of the gang cars made it too, but it ran straight into a fire hydrant. Driving away as fast as he could Nikolai looked back at the bridge. He saw lots of gang cars and the bridge being raised back to its normal size. There was also a helicopter with men throwing down ropes to pull in fellow gang members. Nikolai concluded that these were not your regular street gangs, they were very rich and organized gangs. Sweating, and exhausted, Nikolai finally made it to the office building. The first thing the lady said was "your late, Im not paying for this pizza." Nikolai smiled, and said, "Did you have any idea what was going on out there"? "Does not matter it is still late" Nikolai refrained himself from strangling the lady. "I drove through the middle of a gang fight to deliver this pizza, I at least deserve some form of payment". The lady rolled her eyes, and stated, "Your late, the pizzas late, and Im not paying for it." "I risked my life" "Well, Im sorry but your not getting anything for it" "Well you will" Nikolai grabbed all of the pizza boxes and smacked the lady in the head. She was out cold. Nikolai stole anything he could put his hands on: money, jewelery, and any other valuables. He took the pizza as well. Nikolai sat in his car feeling relieved that he was still alive. As a reward for escaping death Nikolai was spat on by this lady. He could not believe it. Sometimes people just needed a lesson, and Nikolai gave a valuable one to this lady.

Secret
Some secrets are best kept to yourself. Some people learn this the hard way, some people already know. Secrets are fascinating, and if you make even the slightest hint about it to somebody they will want to know everything about it. Once secrets get out, there is no stopping it. They spread like wildfire, and change as they are passed along. Many alterations to your secret could make yourself look even worse. Treat a dangerous secret like something you never want to see again. Lock it in a very secured vault in your brain, and when somebody asks about it, deny its existence. People will always be looking to rob your vault, and there are some very good thief's in the world. Always be on the lookout for robbers, and make sure your vault is top notch security.

Bankrupt (Edited Version)
-->
Mr. Meyers and Mr. Damian were
becoming two of the most successful steroid dealers in the country. Mr. Meyers
would make the drug, and Mr. Damian would deal it. They were bringing in a lot
of money, and decided to set up a separate bank account for their steroid
business. Mr. Meyers and Mr. Damian do not sell steroids to athletes; they sell
them to bodybuilders and hired killers. The two men made sure to be very
careful when selling to gangs, and tried to limit their business with them.
Both of them on the outside seemed very nice, but inside they were monsters
with demented ideas. Sometimes there were cases where Mr. Meyers would make a
steroid that killed a customer if he or she was not to his liking. Mr. Damian
would shoot anybody that refused his offer. Both of these men know that it took
a lot of dirty work to make it to the top. They wanted to stay at the top, and
do whatever it took to maintain their position. The unfortunate problem was
that there are constantly people gunning for you trying to take your place.
Soon Mr. Meyers started experimenting with steroids that were very expensive,
and difficult to make. Mr. Damian took issue to this and told his coworker to
be very careful. Debt kept piling up for Mr. Meyers, and Mr. Damian realized
that they were losing money fast. Next everything went into free fall. Mr.
Meyers blew up the lab making the steroid, and he was nowhere to be found. Mr.
Damian kept getting calls about how he needed to pay up on the equipment. The
bank called next saying that his account had run out of money. Mr. Damian had
lost it, he was going to find Meyers and kill him. He sped to the lab, and searched
the wreckage. Mr. Meyers was waiting for him, and got his syringe ready. Mr.
Damian pulled out his pistol, and fired in the air calling for Meyers. Before
anything could happen, sirens blared and both men were knocked out cold with
tranquilizer needles. Nothing was ever heard about these two men ever again. They were put in a special facility, and were locked up there forever. What people did remember was the steriods that Mr. Meyers made. There are many horrifying stories of people being poisoned, and having bones broken from the drugs. These stories came out about two weeks after his arrest, and many people were calling for his head. The police decided that they wanted nothing to do with this, so they let him rot in the prison cell until he would become a corpse. This is a lesson on why not to go in the drug business.

Free Writing
-->
“Take my camel dear,” said my Aunt
Dot as she climbed down from this animal on her return from High Mass. I shook
my head and took the camel to the shed with my handcuffs on. My name is Jacob
and I am twenty- four years old, and in prison as punishment for what my
parents had done. My Aunt Dot had accused them of stealing precious jewels from
her. My parents were arrested and they lived the rest of their lives rotting in
prison. I do not know if my parents were guilty or not, but I do know that
anyone who accuses their own family is a coward. Aunt Dot comes by every day
and makes me take her camel. She always looks down at me with a smirk, and
calls me “dear” very sarcastically. I always had two heavily armed guards next
to me, so I could not punch her in the face like I wanted to. I had twenty more
years of prison sentenced, and I could not bear the pain any longer. When I was
younger, I was beaten by the inmates, and tossed around like a rag doll. Now I
am fit, and the inmates leave me alone. The thing that is interesting about my
prison is that they keep all the inmates in one cell. The prison is on the top
of a mountain overlooking the whole city of Cairo. Many men have tried to
escape, but they could not climb down the mountain. The mountain was so steep,
and had many sharp rocks at the bottom. They all just fell to their death. I
have always wanted to escape, but I knew I could never make it down the
mountain. I had spent years thinking of escape plans, but none of them would
work. The owner of the prison, Diabolos, was the most evil man I had ever seen.
He was worse than my aunt. Once a year Diabolos would pick a random prisoner
and tell him that he could either try to escape or get shot. Sometimes the
prisoners would refuse, and Diabolos would shoot them. Usually they would try
to escape, and fall to their death. I always flinched whenever I heard the thud
of a body hitting the bottom of the mountain. This year Diabolos had his men
put wooden pikes, spears, and sharp objects at the bottom of the mountain. I
had grown to hate this man even more than my aunt. He would always laugh
whenever a man fell, and yell at the other prisoners “I look forward to next
year!” I swore to myself that I would have my revenge on Diabolos and my aunt.
The only thing that was good about my prison was that I had a close friend with
me. His name was Matt and we had helped each other survive. Matt taught me how
to fight, and take care of myself. I remember when I first met him, after I was
beaten. I had broken my arm and had several broken ribs. Matt healed my arm,
and told me that he would teach me how to defend myself. We met every day, and
after two years nobody in the prison dared to lay a finger on me. He never told
me why he was in prison, and that angered me. One day I remember losing control
of my emotions and telling him how I would kill both my aunt and Diabolos. I
went into deep description of how I would brutally murder them and avenge my
parents and myself. He replied with saying “Jacob, there is more to life than
revenge, and hatred will not get you far”. I scoffed and replied, “My Aunt Dot
was the reason why my parents died so early, and do you expect me to let that
go”? “No, I expect you to endure”. “My parents deserve justice, and I will kill
my Aunt” “I will do whatever it takes, even if it means the end of me”. “Jacob,
one day you will have your revenge, but it can not consume you now.” “Now you
need to focus on escaping, and learning how to live in prison.” Ever since then
my respect grew for Matt, and all the time I did not know that he had already
planned my escape. Without Matt I would not be alive. Today I woke up and
realized that it was the day that Diabolos would allow someone the chance to
escape. My heart was pounding, and I was sweating as the vision of my body
falling down the mountain overwhelmed me. After five long minutes the
megaphones blared with then name Matt. My head started spinning, and I was
getting ready to faint. How would I survive without Matt? Matt walked up to me
and said, “I will see you again”. He then whispered, “Look in your shoe, that
is the key to escape”. He just walked away. Diabolos was laughing as he pointed
his gun at Matt and said “death or escape”? Matt replied, “escape”. All the
prisoners were taken out to the cliffs edge to watch the scene under close
surveillance from the guards. I then looked in my shoe and saw a knife. Matt
started climbing down the cliff, and I could not bear to watch. Half an hour
passed, and Matt was still alive. He had made it farther than any man before. The prisoners
started to cheer, and then Diabolos screamed “Enough!” and fired his gun at the
rocks near Matt. He fell, and fell until I could not see him anymore. A hot
flush of anger overtook me, and I fell on my knees. I grabbed the knife out of
my shoe, and cut my handcuffs quietly. Luckily I was nowhere close to the
guards. I came up behind a guard and knocked him out with the butt of my
dagger. I grabbed his gun, and then hurled my knife straight at Diabolos. The
knife sank itself into his eye, and one part of my revenge was complete.
Diabolos howled in pain, and then chaos ensued. I sniped down as many guards as
I could, and all of the prisoners started to overwhelm them. I looked down the
mountain for Matt, but all I saw was a long fall. I started running away, and a
new surge of hope formed in me.

Emotion as character
Delighted does not come in one
form, it comes in many. Delighted takes its place in letters from colleges that
say you are accepted. Delighted is on T-shirts and hats that say champions.
Delighted is all over incredible resort hotels all over the world. Delighted is
very busy, and that is why it cannot take one form. Delighted is the finger
prints on the Larry O Brian, and Vince Lombardi trophies. Sometimes Delighted
takes its place in the brain after one has success. Delighted loves to be on
papers that say A+, and on dollar bills after someone has struck it rich.
Delighted likes to be revved out of a Lamborghini or Ferrari during a great
day. Delighted is all over the yellow jersey, and the Olympic gold medal.
Occasionally Delighted comes out of instruments such as the piano, and drums.
These are all great things that Delighted does every day. The one problem that
delighted has is that some people’s delighted is not very good. Delighted is
disturbed by the evil pleasures that some people have in their mind. Delighted tries
to ignore these things, but it cant. Delighted has been abused throughout the
history of the world, and it cannot do anything about it. Delighted has been
abused so much, that it cant go on without finding a solution to the problem.
Delighted made a conclusion that wicked feelings of delight were not actually
uplifting feelings. Now delight just skips over wrong feelings, and just
participates in true feelings of delight. Delight goes back to flying off of
skiis and splashing off of surfboards. Delight is in food, and new buildings
that have been created. Delight is back to its true form, and it remembers that
it has a trophy to be on.

As a little boy Francis was quite
strange. At the age of 12 he painted his face white, and always had all these
weird facial expressions. When he was twenty -three he was hired to play the
role of a clown in a T.V. show. Every day after work Francis would run to a
restaurant to dine. Today he was tired after work, and he was very hungry. When
Francis was walking to his seat he gave an offensive looks to two ladies
sitting down. He started imitating them in a mocking way, and soon the owner of
the restaurant came over. He slammed his fist on Francis’s table and told him
that he needed to see him inside. Francis refused, but the owner used his
physical strength to drag Francis into his office. As he was looking through
files in his desk, he told Francis that those two ladies that he was mocking
were his daughters. Francis apologized, but the owner of the restaurant ignored
him, and knocked out Francis cold with a punch in the face. Next the owner
threw Francis in the river, where his white paint was washed off. Francis woke
up on the other side of town, realizing that he had no more white paint on his
face. Francis realized that a clown and an idiot was not the person that he
wanted to be. He was glad that his face was washed off, he was a new person.
